I've added this lovely art book to my collection and proudly display it on my coffee table for guests to see and enjoy. it provokes some stimulating conversation.
I am an artist too and must say this is one of the most unusual and creative works I've seen. It's a slow page-turner because one needs to reflect on each assemblage photo and it's corresponding quote. How does one person come to all these thoughts and notions?
My goodness this is evocative and provocative material. In the unsettling quiet of her elegantly jarring and compelling images, brilliant to pull
these rich and disparate quotes together into one Hallelujah chorus that shakes the lie out of the Patriarchs' quiet conspiracy.
What a lovely book; don't let "Nightmare" in its title mislead you! Each page is so thought-provoking. When coupled with the quotations (sayings of great as well as lesser-known writers and poets) each assemblage photo is cause to pause and reflect. Indeed, this "coffee-table" book is a treasure to be enjoyed over and over again.
I love the mentally provocative nature of Freyda's brave work! If you browse even a few pages you will not be left emotionally untouched. It is a stirring, thought and conversation provoking book that will turn a few moments of one's time into a lasting challenging inter journey!
